Stevens Creek Trail Virtual Tour
Bridge over Central Expressway, Caltrain and Light Rail Tracks and Evelyn Avenue

The engineering marvel of the Stevens Creek Trail is this bridge spanning four-lane Central Expressway, two high-speed Caltrain rail tracks, the VTA light rail tracks and Evelyn Avenue. These corridors effectively split Mountain View in two until the bridge was built. It spans 1100 feet (nearly 1/4 mile) from end to end.

A view from the bridge looking west toward downtown Mountain View. You can see how impenetrable this area used to be for pedestrians and bicyclists.

A view from the top of the bridge. It was built in sections, with the final section lowered into place on Christmas Day 1998.
